How Rent or Caretake works

For property owners

  1. Submit your position. Tell us about the property, the duties, the length of stay, and what you provide (housing, utilities, stipend).
  2. Prove authority. We ask for a simple confirmation that you own the property or are authorized to hire for it, such as a property record, management agreement, or a call-back to a verifiable contact.
  3. We review. We check the listing for clarity, realistic expectations, and safety. We may ask questions.
  4. Go live. Your listing appears with a general location only. Your exact address is shared only when you decide to share it.
  5. Choose your caretaker. Applicants contact you through Rent or Caretake. You make the hiring decision and handle your own agreement and background checks.

For caretakers

  1. Join the founding list (free). Tell us your experience and the regions you want.
  2. Get notified. We email you when verified listings matching your interests go live.
  3. Subscribe when it's worth it. Paid access begins only after verified listings are live. You can see how many live positions exist before you pay.
  4. Apply directly. Contact owners and do your own due diligence before accepting any position.
What we will never do: publish a property without its owner's consent, charge caretakers for access to listings that don't exist, or promise you a placement. Rent or Caretake is a listing service. We don't employ caretakers, and we can't guarantee any position.
